Childcare Assistant GSRP Teacher

Description

We are seeking GSRP Associate Teachers to support our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) program! This state-funded program supports preschool age children.

Qualifications

• An associate degree in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent
• A valid classroom CDA credential
• A plus if you have previous experience teaching at-risk children

Required Shift

Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Employment Type

Full-time, 185 days per year

Compensation

$32,000 - $36,000 per year, based on education and experience

Hiring Process

• Resume screen
• Phone screen with recruiter (30 minutes)
• On-site interview with Center Director (30-60 minutes)
• Q&A Classroom observation

Main Job Responsibilities

• Work as a team member in providing a quality educational preschool program
• Aid in planning, implementing, and monitoring curriculum and assessment
• Aid in establishing parent involvement activities
• Aid with home visits
• Work with individual and small groups of students
• Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts
• Aid children with personal health care needs
• Collaborate and communicate with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans, activities, and classroom tasks
• Aid teacher with monitoring behavior and supporting the educational process in the classroom
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, and/or playground
• Participate in trainings and ongoing professional development
• Able to work flexible hours as needed for family involvement activities, including home visits, recruitment events, open house
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role
