Childcare Assistant – Before & After School
Healthy Kids Programs is seeking Childcare Assistants for our Before and After School Program at Cape May City Elementary School in Cape May, NJ. We're looking for individuals who love working with children and are passionate about creating an environment where kids can thrive.
Job Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: Cape May City Elementary School, Cape May, NJ
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Schedule
Split shift:
- Morning Program hours vary between 7:00 - 8:45 am
- Afternoon Program hours vary between 2:30 - 5:45 pm

Responsibilities
- Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion.
- Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Must successfully pass all required state background checks.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
- Positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues.
- Consistent record of reliability and punctuality.
