Childcare Assistant – Before & After School

Make a difference before and after the school bell rings! Join Healthy Kids Programs as a Childcare Assistant in our Before and After School Programs at the Collingswood Early Childcare Center in Collingswood, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year. Pay

$16.00 per hour

Schedule

Part-time, split shift:

• Morning Program: 7:00 - 9:00 am (hours vary)
• Afternoon Program: 2:30 - 5:45 pm (hours vary)

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities, as well as homework completion
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing

Requirements

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass all required state background checks
• Ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children
• Positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues
• Consistent record of reliability and punctuality
