Child Welfare Case Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Case Specialist to join our Luzerne County team. In this role, you will support children and families by assessing needs, coordinating services, monitoring progress, and promoting safety and well-being. Your work will help ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete all CYS paperwork
• Collect information on absent parents at time of visit
• Complete services plans as needed
• Make referrals for services needed

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
• Ability to pass all required background clearances
• Ability to pass pre-employment, post-offer drug screening
• Availability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and families in a social service setting is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

$38,000 - $42,000 per year

Full-time with some evenings/weekends
