Child Watch Assistant - Spring Valley

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the provision of age-appropriate activities and events for children
• Supervise and engage with children in a safe and fun environment
• Monitor children's behavior to ensure safety and adherence to the Y's rules
• Provide care for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers
• Communicate effectively with members regarding their child’s experience and any concerns
• Follow emergency procedures appropriately to ensure the safety of participants and staff
• Communicate in a positive and effective manner with all participants, parents, members, and co-workers
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the children’s area
• Assist in planning, supervision, and implementation of the daily schedule and curriculum

Requirements

• Must have a warm and friendly personality and the sensitivity to meet the needs of a diverse population
• Excellent customer service experience and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and parents alike
• A compassionate approach to working with children, fostering a positive environment for growth and learning
• Ability to lift children and infants
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical needs
