Child/Special Needs Unit RN Program Director - $10k Sign on

About the role

The Child and Special Needs Unit Program Director oversees the clinical and administrative operations of Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital's Child and Special Needs Unit. This position is part of a dynamic team committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment and supporting patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Establish a strong child behavioral health model guiding the unit's clinical framework and service provision.
• Design structured daily programming engaging patients in therapy, school, and daily living experiences, and therapeutic activities to help organize children/adolescents in crisis.
• Recruit, hire, orient, train, supervise, and manage staff, including clinical consultants and specialized support staff.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team to support the social-emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children.
• Recruit, hire, orient, train, supervise, and manage program staff.
• Work closely with and familiarize with discharge planning processes to support child patients in the community.
• Support clinicians/consultative and support staff and interns with implementing current and new programming.
• Ensure data collection, review, analysis, and reporting for children, families, and programs served.
• Facilitate team meetings and training for staff, childcare providers, parents/caregivers, and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to meet patient care and regulatory requirements.
• Implement positive behavioral support and a treatment model to stabilize children in crisis and support skill-building.
• Attend required meetings, complete reports, and participate in supervision and professional development.
• Oversee documentation, compliance, and quality.
• Provide consultation and support to staff, interns, clients, and collateral agencies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and referral sources.
• Manage administrative functions, including attending meetings, completing reports, and participating in supervision.
• Participate in operational meetings and initiatives to foster organizational development and excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Valid Massachusetts RN license in good standing.
• 2+ years of managerial/clinical experience in a therapeutic treatment setting serving young children and special needs population.
• Computer proficiency, including use of clinical information management systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience working within an acute psychiatric setting with supervisory experience.

Pay

$94,952 - $156,499.20
