About the role
The mission of the Department of Neurology is to provide state of the art comprehensive patient centered neurological care for adults and children, perform translational and clinical research to further understanding of disease mechanisms and develop new treatments, and train the next generation of neurologist and clinical neurologists. The Department of Neurology is seeking two full-time members to join our expanding clinical and research enterprises in the Division of Child Neurology. The positions will provide patient care, engage in medical student and neurology resident and fellow education, and participate in clinical research.
FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt; Restricted Position: No; Rank: Open; Tenure: Ineligible.

Responsibilities
- Clinical: Provide care of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings with an emphasis on Child Neurology.
- Teaching: Teach medical students and housestaff; organize and develop a series of formal conferences for housestaff and students emphasizing issues in Child Neurology; attend weekly Grand Rounds and lecture upon occasion as requested.
- Research: Participate in, and when appropriate lead, clinical research and clinical trials within the Division of Child Neurology.
- Service: Serve on departmental, School of Medicine, and/or University committees as necessary, and in a professional capacity in the field (e.g., reviewer, conference organizer).
Qualifications
- BC/BE in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology
- Completion of an accredited Child Neurology training program
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
