About the role
The Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive child life services in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA).Responsibilities
- Create and introduce comprehensive child life programming addressing the unique developmental and psychosocial needs of premature infants, their caregivers, and siblings.
- Build a sustainable, developmentally supportive, and family-centered program.
- Implement educational, play, and sensory regulation techniques to support the unique neurodevelopmental needs of premature infants.
- Support caregiver bonding to foster healthy attachments and provide interventions for medical trauma, long-term hospitalization, and uncertain outcomes.
- Lead program development efforts and deliver direct patient and family care.
Requirements
- A master's degree in child life or a bachelor's degree in child life with one or more years of experience working in a child life program.
- NICU knowledge and involvement is preferred.
