Child Life Specialist, Days

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate psychosocial patient/family needs for neonatal to 17-year-old patients.
• Provide psychosocial support to meet the needs of patients and families.
• Plan and coordinate activities to promote the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of children in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Utilize age-appropriate principles of growth and development in all activities.
• Act as an advocate for patients and families.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship.
• Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Education, or other health-related field.
• Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) - Must obtain this credential within 12 months of hire.
