About the role
The Child Life Specialist promotes family centered care and meets the psychosocial needs of patients and families through education, preparation, procedural support, psychosocially supportive interventions, play therapy, and serving as a liaison between parents and professionals.
Responsibilities
- Promote family centered care and meet the psychosocial needs of patients and families
- Provide education, preparation, procedural support, psychosocially supportive interventions, play therapy
- Serve as a liaison between parents and professionals of all disciplines within the facility as well as throughout the community
- Provide Child Life Services to the following areas: Pediatric Unit, PICU, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Infusion Center, Pediatric Craniofacial Clinic, Outpatient Surgery, Outpatient Radiology, Pediatric Trauma, NICU, NTU, Children of adult patients, CAC
Requirements
- Must be currently accepted into, actively in, or finished with an official child life internship
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and families in a healthcare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of child development and psychology
- Ability to manage stress and maintain confidentiality

Pay
- Competitive, market-based pay ranging from $21.44 to $27.02 per hour, determined by experience and qualifications
