Child Life Assistant

About the role

The Child Life Assistant at MultiCare is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities to promote socialization, self-awareness, and self-expression for pediatric patients and their siblings. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient settings, working under the direction of a Child Life Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Implementing group and individual recreational activities
• Promoting socialization, self-awareness, and self-expression
• Supporting the development, maintenance, and expression of an appropriate leisure/play and social lifestyle for pediatric patients and/or siblings
• Working in both inpatient and outpatient areas as needed
• Providing supportive services to enhance the quality of life for pediatric patients and their families

Requirements

• Associate degree in child development, early childhood education, or related field
• Minimum four (4) years of recent and related experience working with infants, children, and/or adolescents

• Clear understanding of the growth, development, and needs of children
