Child Interventionist

About the role

Butterfly Effects is seeking passionate Child Interventionists/ABA Behavior Technicians to teach young children affected by autism. This is a part-time role requiring 10-20 hours per week, with at least 15 hours per week for training in the first three weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach children essential skills such as communication, sharing, playing, and waiting in their natural environment (typically their home).
• Work with families to implement ABA strategies and improve the child's behavior and social skills.
• Assess the child's progress regularly and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Collaborate with parents and other caregivers to ensure consistency in the child's treatment plan.
• Participate in supervision and training to prepare for becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A love and passion for working with children.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Experience working with children, especially those affected by autism.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with families and children.

Pay

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour based on experience, education, and certifications.
