Child Group Teacher - First Step
Brief Description
The Child Group Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a nurturing and stimulating educational environment for young children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The teacher will work closely with children, parents, and staff to ensure a supportive and effective learning experience.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 12 units of Child Development or related classwork.
- Two years of child-related experience or equivalent training with knowledge of child growth and development and nurturing guidance strategies preferred.

- Maintain current Medic First Aid certification and respond appropriately to medical incidents, ensuring the health and safety of clients and staff.
- Prevent and control infection.
- Maintain a culture of quality and safety.
- Effectively use de-escalation skills and techniques.
- Properly administer the C-SSRS to help prevent suicide.
Responsibilities
- Complete a developmental assessment (ASQ) on each child quarterly.
- Document children’s progress and communicate with parent educators on child/parent related concerns and progress.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for children.
- Plan and implement daily age-appropriate activities.
- Act as a role model for clients and children.
- Assist with data collection to meet program needs.
- Maintain current Medic First Aid certification and respond appropriately to medical incidents, ensuring the health and safety of clients and staff.
- Responsible for preventing and controlling infection.
- Responsible for maintaining a culture of quality and safety.
- Effectively use de-escalation skills and techniques.
- Properly administer the C-SSRS to help prevent suicide.

Pay
Base Pay: $17.00-$20.00/hour
