Child & Family Case Aide (HHS)
About the role
This position supports Child Protective Service (CPS) social workers with day-to-day case management tasks to help maintain child safety. The role involves supervising and observing parent/child interactions during safety plans, intervening as necessary, and documenting observations.
Responsibilities
- Provide safety service checks and in-home observation of children while with their family.
- Provide drug screens on targeted support safety services or ongoing services.
- Transport consumers with children in out-of-home care.
- Aid families in resolving identified safety concerns.
- Manage present danger threats during all scheduled interactions and report immediately.
- Attend family team meetings and staffings.
- Document concerns and strengths in case notes for each consumer in eWisacwis.
- Participate in relevant trainings.
- Commit to county safety and risk management efforts.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Human Services field or current enrollment in an accredited university program with a social work major or related field.
- Zero to six months of prior relevant experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care principles.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Proof of minimum liability auto insurance coverage.
- Ability to provide a reliable personal vehicle for business travel.
- Responds to requests and initiates contacts to exchange confidential and technical information internally.
- Makes decisions within general procedures and protocols.

- Uses telephone, personal computer/printer, calculator, fax machine, and copy machine.
- Works in a variety of settings including homes, offices, and community locations.
- Meets with clients, families, and other professionals.

- Interacts with the public in a professional manner.
- Documents observations and interactions in case notes.

Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with some nights and weekends required.
