Child Development Specialist
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out developmental assessments
- Provide child development services using the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
- Adhere to each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and collaborate with families to develop strategies for achieving developmental goals
- Employ a family-centered parent coaching strategy to enhance caregivers' skills and ensure progress generalizes across settings
- Offer services in the child’s natural environment, including homes, daycare centers, and community settings
- Conduct periodic reassessments and prepare progress reports (typically bi-annual)
- Preserve confidentiality of client and family information according to HIPAA and/or state/federal regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in child development, early childhood, teaching, or related field (Master’s degree required in Orange County)
- Preferred: Early Intervention Experience
- Preferred: Home-Based Service Delivery Experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
