Job Summary

The Childhood Development Center Educator, also known as a Day Care Worker, plays a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in the CARC daycare setting. They create a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow and develop essential skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement age-appropriate educational activities and programs that promote child development in areas such as language, social-emotional skills, cognitive abilities and physical growth.
  • Engage with children in play-based learning activities that foster creativity, problem-solving and self-expression.
  • Establish positive and supportive relationships with children and their families, promoting open communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain a clean and organized daycare environment, including sanitizing toys and equipment regularly.
  • Observe and document children's behaviors, growth and milestones to inform parents and caregivers of their child's progress.
  • Collaborate with other daycare team members to plan and coordinate daily routines, schedules and special events.
  • Attend to children's personal needs, including feeding, diapering and naptime.
  • Uphold all daycare policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality and following licensing regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass all required background checks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong passion and dedication for working with children and supporting their growth and development.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Patient, compassionate and a nurturing nature.
  • Able to create engaging and stimulating activities for children of different ages and developmental stages.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a childcare setting.
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of children and their families.
