Child Development Assistant at Early Childhood Education (PC #: 25099 / Job ID 8125)

About the role

This position is for a Child Development Assistant (CDA) working with Discovery Club in the Early Childhood Education department. The position is permanent and part-time, with a salary range of $18.11 - $20.65 per hour or $3,254 - $3,580 per month.

Responsibilities

• Work with Discovery Club children aged 5-12
• Previous experience working with school-age children preferred
• Associate Teacher Permit (ATP) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) or proof of qualification for the ATP from the CTC required
• Completion of 6 ECE units desirable
• Completion of college units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) desirable
• Experience in an instructional capacity in a childcare and development program, working at least 3 hours per day within the last 2 years

Qualifications

• [CDA-SA pools] Relevant experience and/or education for this position
• [ITPRE & SA @ Subsidized Sites ONLY FOR NORTHRIDGE, MARIPOSA and CARMICHAEL] Previous experience working with infant/toddler children ages 0-3 years and/or preschool children ages 3-5 years
• Associate Teacher Permit (ATP) issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) or proof that qualifications are met for the ATP from the CTC

• [ITPRE & SA @ Subsidized Sites NORTHRIDGE, MARIPOSA and CARMICHAEL] One of the following options attached:
• Option #1: Copy of Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing that includes the document number
• Option #2: Official transcripts demonstrating the completion of (2) two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) and proof of completion of at least 50 days' experience in an instructional capacity in a childcare and development program, working at least 3 hours per day within the last 2 years
