Child Care Teacher

About The Role

Aid the Director in long-range planning regarding curriculum, philosophy, and goals. Develop monthly, weekly, and daily curriculum plans and communicate them to assistant teachers and aides. Implement the curriculum to meet the emotional, physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs of the children, aligning with the Salvation Army's philosophy and mission. Foster a positive environment that supports each child's development and individual differences. Address children's distress promptly and provide a curriculum that promotes holistic growth. Stay updated on program policies, health and safety regulations, and emergency procedures.

  • Be an example of professional behavior and communication.
  • Create and maintain Portfolios according to Young Star standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Meet licensing and accreditation requirements for education.
  • Have experience teaching in a child care center or nursery school.
  • Have supervisory experience, preferably in a day care setting.
  • Show effective leadership and communication skills.
