Child Care Teacher Assistant -Per Diem

About the role

Join our team at Novant Health as a Child Care Teacher Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting classroom activities and ensuring a warm, safe, and engaging learning experience for young learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing daily classroom activities and routines.
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members.
• Support the center’s goals, guidelines, and standards of excellence.

Requirements

• High School or GED, required.
• NC CDL License, preferred.
• Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire, required.
• ITS SIDS within 2 months of hire, required.
• BSAC (Basic School Age) for those working with school age children, required.
• NC Division of Child Development Qualifying Letter/Criminal Background letter, required.
• NC Division of Child Development Workforce letter within 2 months of hire.
• NC Institute for Child Development Professional ECE Certification within 2 months of hire.
• CDL license (if hired for driving buses) and working with school age children.
• Maintain training hours requirements as outlined by the Division of Child Development.

Qualifications

• EDU 119 or equivalency as defined by DHHS Education Workforce, preferred.

Skills

• The ability to work a variety of work schedules.
• To work effectively in all classrooms within the centers.
• Playground safety skills.

Schedule

As needed PRN schedule Monday through Friday - availability required between 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
