Child Care Specialist

About the role

Our approach is nurturing and child-centered, offering a variety of services tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. As a Child Care Specialist, you'll contribute directly to the growth of young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working in collaboration with a team of experts, including Board-Certified Behavior Analysts, Speech Therapists, and Occupational Therapists. This is an entry-level role that does not require prior certification; we provide complete training.

Responsibilities

• Offer one-on-one support to children aged 2-6 in a clinic environment, guided by science-backed, naturalistic therapeutic methods
• Implement intervention plans crafted by expert clinicians in behavior analysis, speech, and occupational therapy
• Team up with the child's healthcare professionals to provide consistent, high-quality care

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (verified by resume, application, or BACB attestation for RBT certification)
• Previous experience with children aged 2-6, ideally in a professional capacity
• Ability to achieve and maintain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within the first 6 weeks of employment (Soar will provide paid training). Note: RBT certification is required for the Colorado Springs location
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer and tablet literacy
• Reliable transportation to both training location and local center; punctuality is essential
• Ability to meet the following physical requirements: sit and stand frequently, shift positions quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., sit/kneel on the floor for extended periods, sit in a chair, stand, walk, and occasionally run short distances to catch up with a client

Preference for college graduates or people pursuing a college degree.

Pay

$21.50 - $28.50/hour with regular bonus and promotion opportunities. The initial offer hourly pay will be between $21.50 - $22.75. All staff members are considered every 3 months for a raise or promotion.
