Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent preferred.
- One to two years of related experience preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Responsibilities
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet community needs and fulfill YMCA objectives.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs staff and volunteers as needed.
- Reviews and evaluates staff performance; develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in marketing and distribution of program information; may organize and schedule program registrations.
- May review and process program scholarship applications.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
- Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; responds to member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- May assist with Program Committee meetings; compiles program statistics.
- Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness and participation.
- Ensures membership strategy aligns with community needs and accomplishes Strategic Plan goals.
- Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members.
- Coordinates program registration, including logistics for phone, walk-in, and web registration.
- Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors.
- Ensures a level of service and engagement that fosters loyalty among those served.
- Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the organization.
- Ensures proper implementation of Welcome Center procedures; reviews and communicates standard operating procedure changes to staff.
- Coordinates with the Association Resource Office on financial transactions as necessary.
- Participates in annual budget planning; manages and implements the approved budget for membership and corrects variances.
- Leads membership team and volunteers effectively; recruits, hires, and trains diverse staff and volunteer teams; onboards and develops them for success.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
