Child and Family Therapist
About the role
The Family Counseling Center (FCC) provides confidential and professional counseling for children and their families. FCC treats a wide range of childhood issues including infant mental health, positive parenting, grief/loss, divorce issues, anger issues, ADD/ADHD, anxiety and school adjustment issues, among others.
Responsibilities
- Provide a variety of clinical interventions to children in KID programs and, whenever possible, their families.
- Offer individual therapy to child clients and sibling(s).
- Conduct group and family therapy.
- Support and advocate for parents/guardians/caretakers.
- Work within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Conduct therapeutic services in the community or at the child’s placement location.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Family Therapy, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of experience and Florida Licensure preferred.
- Valid Florida Driver's License with full-time access to a reliable vehicle (proof of vehicle insurance is required).
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of various therapeutic approaches.
