Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Advanced Practice Provider

Mission Health is seeking an experienced Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Advanced Practice Provider to join our Behavioral Health team in Asheville, NC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management services for pediatric patients
• Support Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists with therapeutic case management, ER case consults, and group therapy management
• Work in a 100% inpatient setting at the 24-bed Child & Adolescent Unit at Sweeten Creek

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
• PMHNP or psychiatry CAQ Physician Assistant certification required
• At least 1 year of experience as a practicing advanced practice provider in psychiatry / behavioral health
• Ability to see pediatric patients

Schedule

• 7 on / 7 off schedule with 10-hour shifts

About Mission Health’s Behavioral Health Services

Mission Health operates a 120-bed freestanding behavioral health hospital, Sweeten Creek, which opened in 2023. The facility includes two adult, one geriatric, one child, and one adolescent inpatient units. Additional services include:

• 23-bed emergency department psychiatric evaluation area
• 10-bed behavioral health pod in the new Mission Hospital emergency department
• Consultation on the pediatrics service and in the emergency department
• Active ECT program
