About the Role

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and/or medication. Provides clinical services to patients at the facility. Practices within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as corporate and facility policies or procedures.

  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and offer medical recommendations.
  • Evaluate patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans; document services and information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential documentation, compliance, and billing in accordance with policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years’ post-graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility operates.
  • Board certification in psychiatry.
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per state regulations.
