About the role
The specialist will join a well-developed inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary consultation program for suspected child abuse and neglect. This full time position offers excellent opportunities for inpatient and outpatient clinical child abuse practice, teaching, prevention work, and community involvement in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Medical evaluations of children for suspected abuse and neglect.
- Legally acceptable reports of evaluations.
- Assessments for suspected abuse.
- Provision of quality services.
- Telephone consultations to professionals in the community and state on medical aspects of suspected abuse.
- Promotion of community awareness of child abuse issues through educational programs.
- Expert testimony when subpoenaed to depositions or trials on cases.
- Continuing education for child abuse examiners.
- Provides call coverage for child abuse consultations or examinations as necessary.
- Outpatient general pediatrics clinic time is potentially available if interest.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
- Specialty training in child abuse preferred.
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years clinical experience evaluating children for concerns of abuse.
- Licensure: Medical license for the applicable state Board certified Pediatrician or Board certified Pediatric sub-specialist Child abuse board eligible preferred, must be Board Certified in Child Abuse within 5 years of Board Eligibility.
- BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
Pay
Pay Range: USD $93.41 - USD $148.99 /Hr.
