Chief Water/ Waste Water Plants Operator

Job Description

The Water/Wastewater Plants Operator will have the necessary qualifications, technical knowledge, experience and skills required to efficiently operate, maintain and repair the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Collection System. Operate and maintain a variety of facilities, equipment, and systems involved in wastewater treatment processes.

Monitor plant operation through visual observation and computer screens, regulating flows.

Perform chemical analysis and tests to ensure the facility's final effluent meets quality standards.

Document and maintain data regarding plant operations for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Assign and demonstrate operation and maintenance tasks to other staff and provide technical guidance.

Review plans for plant upgrades and meet with consultants and contractors.

Train or ensure training and updating of skills for all wastewater plant employees.
