The CTO will work closely with the Chief Product Officer to build and ship high-quality products, leveraging a pod-based operating model and a strong foundational data layer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for using AI to create new service offerings and transform the business, while also ensuring the platform remains secure and compliant with healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

    • Establish a hands-on leadership style, staying close to the product day-to-day to ensure quality and urgency.
    • Deliver a significant improvement in product and interface quality, eliminating recurring defects.
    • Build a strong partnership with the CPO and broader business, operating as a unified product-and-engineering leadership unit.
    • Implement lightweight cadences for visibility and accountability, such as weekly shipped-work demos and engineering metrics.
    • Assess, develop, and retain a high-caliber engineering, data, IT, and security team, managing infrastructure costs.
    • Develop a long-range domestic and offshore staffing strategy to balance capability, cost, and speed.
    • Integrate AI into the development process and member/partner experience, ensuring pragmatic and valuable applications.
    • Maintain platform security and compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, and other healthcare standards.
  • Ongoing Scope:
    • Full ownership of Engineering, Data, IT, and Security across US and India-based teams.
    • Align technical vision with business strategy and commercial outcomes.
    • Ensure the health, standards, and cost efficiency of the software development organization.
    • Maintain reliability, performance, and scalability of the web and mobile platform.

Qualifications

  • Must-Haves:
    • Mission-driven, with a genuine passion for solving foodcare access and behavior change challenges.
    • Hands-on builder with a strong bias for action and a track record of shipping high-quality consumer or consumer-grade products.
    • Accountable owner who drives decisions and holds themselves and their team to high standards.
    • Genuine product partner, energized by collaborating with business leaders.
    • Business-minded, prioritizing work that drives impact and speaking in terms of outcomes.
    • Talent magnet, capable of attracting, assessing, and retaining excellent technical talent.
    • Excellent communicator, able to translate between technical and business audiences.
    • Fluent and pragmatic on AI, with early-adopter instincts and judgment for applying AI effectively.
  • Strongly Preferred:
    • Healthcare or digital health experience, with familiarity with HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance.
    • Experience scaling engineering in a growth-stage, PE- or VC-backed company.
    • Experience leading distributed engineering organizations across US and offshore teams.
    • Experience with two-sided marketplace or multi-stakeholder platforms.
    • Self-aware, feedback-seeking growth mindset with a kind, collaborative style.

Experience

Typically 15+ years of relevant industry experience, including direct responsibility for setting org structure and technical vision across multiple products. A demonstrated pattern of staying close to the work, shipping quality products, and driving commercial outcomes in partnership with product is essential.
