CHIEF TECHNOLOGIST RADIOLOGY

Responsibilities

• Direction and oversight of Wakefield Radiology; including X-Ray, MR, CT, IR, and tech aides functions.
• Ensures maintenance of all licensures, registrations, and compliance with DOH, JCAHO, ACR and other accrediting agencies.
• Makes frequent inspections of work areas, equipment, and work performed by the technologist and technologist assistant.
• Ensures radiology, and all other equipment, is secured; maintained and in proper working condition.
• Provides technical guidance for radiologic technologists.
• Schedules and assigns work shifts.
• Manages departmental payroll.
• Maintains and reports on quality indicators, including but not limited to turn around times, patient wait times, volume compared to budget, radiation dose reporting and other indicators as needed.
• Evaluates technical staff on an annual basis.
• Develops and monitors compliance of departmental policies and procedures.
• Builds relationships with other departments, nursing units and referring physicians.
• Recruits, disciplines, and terminates as needed.
• Develops and implements Patient Experience Improvement (PI) initiatives.
• Contributes to the budgeting process.
• Orders necessary supplies.
• Provides excellent customer service, while also balancing budgeted volume targets.
• Creates a culture where staff are consistently focused on the patient experience while meeting targets and providing excellent/safe patient care while also keeping employee morale up.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
• New York State DOH License to practice Diagnostic Radiography with Injection.
• ARRT Registration.
• 10+ years of management or practice experience in radiology.

Preferred Qualities

• Bachelor's Degree in Radiology Practice Management.

Pay

$120,400.00 - $150,500.00

Schedule

Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 7.5 hours per day.
