Chief Solutions Architect
Responsibilities
Serve as the enterprise authority for solution architecture across multiple DHS capture efforts and active programs
Lead the development of end-to-end technical solutions spanning infrastructure, cloud, applications, cybersecurity, data, and IT service management
Support early-stage and active capture efforts by developing initial solution concepts, technical strategies, architectures, and roadmaps
Ensure continuity between proposed capture solutions and post-award execution, supporting on-program modernization and transformation initiatives
Partner with business development, capture managers, and delivery leadership to balance innovation, risk, cost, schedule, and operational feasibility
Engage directly with DHS stakeholders to understand mission needs and clearly articulate solution value
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption aligned to enterprise strategy and DHS priorities
Support program execution by guiding technical decisions, resolving complex issues, and mitigating technical risk
Qualifications
- Ability to Obtain DHS EOD Public Trust Clearance
- Bachelors (or equivalent) plus 15 years of experience. Equivalency includes AA + 17 total years of work experience, MA + 12 years of experience or 21 total years of work experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT, solution architecture, or systems engineering roles
- Demonstrated experience supporting capture efforts, including development of initial capture team solution concepts, architectures, and technical strategies, with the ability to transition into on-program technology transformation initiatives post-award
- Proven ability to design and lead large-scale, complex, multi-domain IT solutions from concept through execution
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical solutions, roadmaps, and trade-offs to executives, capture teams, and government stakeholders
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT domains, including: Cloud and hybrid infrastructure, Application and systems architecture, Cybersecurity and Zero Trust principles, Data, analytics, and integration, IT service management and operations
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, TOGAF, CISSP, ITIL, SAFe, or similar)
- Experience leading large enterprise modernization initiatives, including cloud migration, digital transformation, Zero Trust, DevSecOps, Digital Employee Experience (DEX)
- Prior experience in a Chief Architect, Principal Architect, or equivalent senior technical leadership role

Pay Range
The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is $131,800 - $290,000

This role primarily supports growth efforts from inception to delivery, ensuring solutions are innovative, secure, scalable, and executable, but may support program delivery teams in implemented proposed solutions.
