Chief Scientific Officer

For our client, we are seeking a Chief Scientific Officer to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a life sciences environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $425,000 – $500,000 annually Responsibilities Serve as the senior scientific advisor to the Executive Team and Board, offering strategic counsel for corporate decisions Partner with executives to shape portfolio strategy based on scientific and technical inputs Communicate the Company's scientific vision and research roadmap to stakeholders Define and evolve the scientific strategy, identifying therapeutic opportunities and research priorities Elevate scientific reputation by building relationships with academic collaborators and the rare disease community Qualifications Advanced scientific or medical degree (M.D., Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., Pharm.D., or equivalent) 17+ years of progressive biotechnology or pharmaceutical leadership experience with significant rare disease involvement Deep scientific expertise in nephrology, immunology, metabolic diseases, and related areas Demonstrated success in leading research organizations and translating scientific findings into development opportunities Experience in evaluating external innovation and conducting scientific due diligence Benefits Premium health, financial, work-life, and well-being offerings for eligible employees and dependents Wellness and employee support programs Life insurance and disability benefits Retirement plans with employer match Generous paid time off Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
