This is an on-site role in Charlotte, NC, in the office Monday – Thursday and remote on Fridays.

Role

Millennium Advisors is seeking an experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead its independent Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function. The CRO will play a critical role in supporting the Firm’s strategic growth while maintaining a disciplined, independent, and best-in-class risk management framework aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Risk Officer will lead the Firm’s independent second line of defense and be responsible for the identification, measurement, monitoring, reporting, and governance of enterprise-wide risks. The CRO will provide executive-level oversight of market, counterparty, credit, liquidity, model, and enterprise risks across all global business lines and serve as a strategic advisor to executive management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and enhance the Firm’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework
  • Develop and maintain the Firm’s Risk Appetite Statement
  • Co-chair the Risk Committee and serve on the Operating Committee
  • Oversee market, counterparty, credit, liquidity, operational, settlement, model, and enterprise risks
  • Establish firm-wide risk limits, exposure thresholds, and escalation procedures
  • Monitor trading exposures, concentration risk, liquidity risk, counterparty exposures, and capital utilization
  • Oversee stress testing, scenario analysis, and enterprise risk reporting
  • Review new products, business lines, counterparties, and trading strategies
  • Oversee counterparty onboarding, credit approvals, and limit frameworks
  • Support regulatory examinations and executive reporting
  • Promote a strong culture of risk awareness and accountability

Preferred Skills

  • The successful candidate will possess at least 15 years of relevant experience within a self-clearing broker-dealer, investment bank, proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or institutional capital markets organization, with significant experience in institutional fixed income, securities lending, repurchase agreements, proprietary trading, counterparty credit risk, liquidity management, and enterprise risk governance.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 15+ years of relevant risk management experience
  • Executive leadership experience within institutional capital markets
  • Deep expertise in market, counterparty, liquidity, operational, and enterprise risk
  • Experience interacting with regulators and executive management
  • Current FINRA Series 7, 24, and 57 registrations, or the ability to obtain them

Preferred Certifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • FRM designation
  • PRM designation

Preferred Technical & Regulatory Expertise

  • SEC Rules 15c3-1, 15c3-3, 15c3-5, 17a-3, and 17a-4
  • Regulation SHO
  • FINRA Rules 3110, 4210, 4370, and 4511
  • Bloomberg, Power BI, and enterprise risk platforms
