Chief Philanthropy Officer

About the role

As our Chief Philanthropy Officer, you will serve on the executive Senior Leadership Group (SLG) and oversee the affiliated fundraising foundations in various States, including direct supervision of the newly formed system-wide Health Foundation. You will provide strategic vision, policy development, leadership, and direction to ensure philanthropic support of programs, services, and the philanthropic activities of member hospitals. You will actively engage senior leadership, foundation executives and staff, board members, and other key stakeholders in the fundraising process, signaling a significant change in the importance and utility of philanthropy and private support.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement policy and programs to produce increasing levels of philanthropic support across the network of hospitals and foundations.
• Lead the development of a comprehensive, annual fundraising plan that responds to the defined needs of the foundations and supported organizations.
• Manage and oversee professional fundraising and support staff.
• Serve as the Foundation lead with Board and community leaders to grow financial and public relations support for associated organizations.
• Direct and oversee the receipt of charitable gifts, their financial stewardship, and their distribution to ensure continuous support of the foundation and supported organizations' mission.
• Act as the senior major gifts and planned giving officer, actively managing a portfolio of prospects and donors, and meeting regularly with them to create and foster relationships.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in a related field upon hire, or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of not-for-profit fundraising and development experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of management experience.
• Fire Safety certification within 90 days of hire.

Founded in 1955, Dignity Health - Northridge Hospital Medical Center is a 394-bed, acute-care, nonprofit hospital. Serving over 80,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II Trauma Center, heart care, cancer care, and women’s health. It is the only pediatric trauma center in the San Fernando Valley. Pay

$87.81 - $122.93 per hour.
