This is a high-bar leadership role requiring operational system building, not traditional COO responsibilities like managing meetings and maintaining existing processes. The successful candidate will drive three outcomes simultaneously: operational rigor, financial discipline, and AI-native organizational transformation.

About the Role

Single Grain is a digital growth company operating at the intersection of services, software, and AI. The COO role involves building the operating system for an AI-native growth company, ensuring the company runs predictably, efficiently, and at high velocity.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure elite operational discipline, strong financial accountability, and high AI fluency across teams.
  • Install and maintain the company’s operational infrastructure, including company-wide operating rhythms, weekly operational reviews, quarterly planning processes, leadership accountability frameworks, and KPI tracking systems across teams.
  • Drive AI-native organizational transformation, including AI training and adoption programs, AI-powered workflows across departments, and automation of repetitive operational work.
  • Enforce financial awareness and accountability across the organization, such as budget discipline, contribution margin visibility, revenue forecasting accuracy, cost control systems, and clear financial scorecards.
  • Ensure core processes are documented, operational standards are enforced, and accountability mechanisms are in place, with teams consistently following operating procedures.
  • Act as the integrator across leadership teams, coordinating cross-department initiatives, resolving operational conflicts, removing execution bottlenecks, and ensuring alignment between leadership teams.

Pay

$185,000 - $225,000 DOE
