Job Description

The New York City Law Department is accepting applications from admitted attorneys for the position of Deputy Chief of the Executive Litigation & Policy Group (“ELPG”), which is part of our Executive Division.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must have at least 10 years of legal experience following graduation from an ABA accredited law school and be admitted to the practice of law in New York State.
  • Candidates must be admitted or eligible for immediate admission to the SDNY and EDNY.
  • The ideal candidate will possess exceptional legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills, along with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal positions effectively to various stakeholders in both litigation and advisory contexts.
  • Substantial experience with complex or high-stakes litigation – particularly affirmative litigation – and/or deep familiarity with municipal law is strongly preferred.
  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate a history of successful supervision and management of attorneys and legal support professionals.
