About The Role You will serve as a strategic operating partner and trusted deputy to the Head of Civil Society & Philanthropy. You will drive projects from planning through delivery, build effective operating systems, improve workflows with AI, support strategy and resource decisions, represent the Head when needed, and lead cross-functional initiatives. Requirements Prior Chief of Staff experience is strongly preferred, or comparable operating responsibilityTrack record of independently leading ambiguous cross-functional projects from strategy to results, including budgets and resource allocationCommitment to serving as the team’s full-time Chief of Staff for at least two yearsExceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-throughPractical experience applying AI in workflows, understanding its limitations, and verifying outputsPass an AI fluency test as part of the hiring processStrong communication, discretion, senior judgment, and ability to build trustAbility to collaborate in person according to the Foundation’s office schedule, with flexibility for team needs and occasional travel Responsibilities Own selected projects end to end, translating goals into priorities, plans, owners, milestones, and deliverablesMaintain visibility across the portfolio and Foundation teams, connecting dependencies and sustaining momentumIdentify blockers and dropped commitments, and resolve or escalate them with sound judgmentBuild and maintain systems for planning, tracking, communication, and accountabilityOwn team meeting preparation and follow-up to turn decisions into actionUse AI to improve workflows, including building or adapting internal tools and verifying outputsSupport strategy, planning, priorities, and allocation of people and resourcesRepresent the Head in leadership discussions, offsites, and partner meetingsBuild trusted relationships with internal teams and external partnersLead cross-team initiatives spanning technical enablement, grantmaking, and AI-native philanthropySupport hiring and onboarding Hiring Process AI fluency test.
