Centro Cultural Mexicano (CCM) is a trusted nonprofit organization based in Redmond, Washington, committed to serving Latino/Hispanic and immigrant communities across King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. CCM provides bilingual programs in Spanish and English that promote culture, education, civic engagement, and community advocacy. Our work spans a wide range of areas, including arts and culture, basic needs, education, health, support for small businesses, environmental sustainability/justice, and digital equity and inclusion.
Position Summary
The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner to the Executive Director, advancing organizational impact through leadership in operations, program execution, and cross-functional coordination. This role bridges strategy and implementation ensuring that organizational priorities translate into effective programs and measurable community outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Executive Director to drive strategic planning, organizational alignment, and priority setting.
- Translate strategic goals into actionable plans and ensure execution across teams.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, improving systems, processes, and workflows to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Prepare briefings, reports, and materials to support executive decision-making.
- Serve as a thought partner on organizational challenges, opportunities, and growth strategies.
- Support the Executive Director to identify funding opportunities and support grant proposal development.
- Represent the organization at events, coalitions, public forums, and media engagements as needed.
- Co-design, implement, and oversee community-focused programs aligned with organizational priorities and community needs.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives, ensuring collaboration and accountability across teams.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through data, feedback, and outcome tracking; drive continuous improvement.
- Adapt and expand programming in response to emerging community priorities and opportunities.
- Establish and manage systems for tracking organizational goals, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify and address gaps or bottlenecks across teams to improve coordination and execution.
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring alignment with funding requirements and responsible resource use.
- Track grant deliverables, timelines, and outcomes.
- Prepare reports for funders, leadership, and stakeholders on program performance and financial stewardship.
- Partner with leadership to align budgeting with strategic priorities and long-term sustainability.
- Support forecasting and resource planning to inform organizational decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Masters Degree in nonprofit management, education, social work, cultural studies, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of experience in program management, operations, community engagement, or nonprofit leadership.
- Demonstrated Success: Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and evaluating community-based programs and cross-functional initiatives.
- Leadership & Team Coordination: Experience supporting senior leadership, strategic planning, or organizational operations.
- Budgeting & Financial Oversight: Proven experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and reporting.
- Grant Writing & Fund Development: Experience with grant writing, fund development, and managing grant-funded programs strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal) required.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive execution, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to balance strategic, big-picture thinking with attention to detail, ensuring effective implementation of organizational priorities.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with experience fostering collaboration across teams or departments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level materials and presenting to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to support decision-making through data, analysis, and clear communication.
- Strategic thinker with a solutions-oriented, proactive, and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
- Experience establishing or managing systems for tracking goals, metrics, or organizational performance (e.g., KPIs, dashboards).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools (e.g., Asana or similar platforms).

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $80,200.00 - $82,400.00 per year
