About the role
The successful candidate will lead and coordinate major system-wide initiatives, oversee the development and implementation of systems for monitoring key areas, and serve as a liaison between the Superintendent and various constituents.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and coordinates the development and implementation of major system-wide initiatives.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of systems for monitoring student achievement and satisfaction, staff performance and satisfaction, community satisfaction, revenue and expenditures, and the condition of facilities.
- Designs an accountability system for the effective implementation of the strategic plan and for the general operation of the system.
- Oversees and coordinates the activities of departments to facilitate effective system-wide operations.
- Facilitates the establishment of effective working relationships with and between departmental managers and others.
- Identifies issues which may affect the Baltimore County Public Schools.
- Analyzes and evaluates issues and makes recommendations on actions to be taken.
- Counsels and provides advice and guidance regarding emerging problems and issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in education, public relations, or a related field.
- Five years of management experience in education, public relations, or a related field.

- Knowledge of public education systems.

Physical and Environmental Conditions
The work of this class is generally performed in an office environment. Employees may be required to work beyond their normally scheduled hours with little or no advanced notice. Work schedules may include nights and weekends.

The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109. Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US. If you have military experience, you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214. Official transcripts will be required upon hire and must be sent via e-script/clearinghouse from your university. Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing. All newly hired personnel must attend a Benefits and Retirement Orientation meeting. Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
