Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the nursing team to deliver high-quality resident care and enhance clinical outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations, maintaining survey readiness.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support facility goals and operational success.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, recruitment, retention, and staff development within the nursing department.
- Drive quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives through data analysis and action planning.
- Foster a culture focused on resident rights, dignity, safety, and person-centered care.
- Support employee growth through education, mentorship, coaching, and clinical competency development.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, staff, and external providers to promote a positive environment.
- Participate in budget planning, staffing recommendations, and operational strategies.
- Assist with interdisciplinary care coordination and oversight of clinical processes such as MDS and admissions.
- Lead the facility through challenges with professionalism, resilience, and strong leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Oregon.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN or MSN preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 3–5 years of successful leadership experience as a Director of Nursing, CNO, or equivalent in a skilled/long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to skilled nursing facilities.
- Strong clinical judgment and management skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- DNS-CT or CDONA certification is a plus.
- Experience leading interdisciplinary teams and fostering positive employee relations.
- Background in regulatory compliance, staffing management, and quality improvement.
