Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day execution and responsibilities associated with the established Part 145 program for the Cirrus BEH Factory Finish Center.
- Ensure all operations within the FAA Part 145 repair station are fully compliant with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, including but not limited to FAR 145, 43, 91, and 135.
- Oversee and execute the inspection process to ensure quality standards align with manufacturing standards and post maintenance practices for the aircraft.
- Own daily inspection activities to ensure efficient workflow, appropriate task prioritization, and timely and accurate work order completion while maintaining exemplary quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the Accountable Manager and Direct Labor, providing operational ownership, subject matter expertise, direction, and troubleshooting assistance when needed.
- Champion standardized processes and best practices by serving as the facility subject matter expert.
- Ensure that all work is performed according to company policies, FAA standards, and safety and quality protocols.
- Lead, manage, and mentor the inspections and finishing team to maintain high levels of competency, training, and performance.
- Ensure inspectors and technicians obtain and maintain required certifications, demonstrate continuous technical proficiency, and consistently perform duties as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and certifications in accordance with FAA and company standards.
- Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements and is stored securely.
- Monitor and assess the quality of the shop's activities, recommend process improvements or corrective actions when necessary.
- Conduct audits and inspections to verify the effectiveness of the quality control program.
- Prepare and submit all required reports to the FAA and other regulatory bodies as required, ensuring all activities are properly documented and reported in a timely manner.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during inspections.
- Identify potential risks or non-compliance issues and take proactive measures to resolve identified issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide input to enhance quality assurance, effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- An associate's degree in aviation maintenance or a related field required.
- A bachelor's degree in aviation science or technology desired.
- 7+ years of experience in practical aviation inspection and maintenance, including leadership roles.
- In-depth knowledge of 14 CFR Part 145 regulations required.
- Possession of a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) certification in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations.
- Proven ability to influence and mentor teams through technical expertise and best practices while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant license required.
- FAA Inspection Authorization preferred.
- Thoroughly versed in CFR FAR’s, inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, applications, tools and equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with maintenance tracking software and computer systems required.
- EBIS experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in regulatory audits or inspections required.
- Experience with FAA Part 145 certifications and operations required.
