Chief Inspector
About the role
This position covers Orange, Ulster, and Dutchess Counties in New York. In the role of Chief Inspector, we'll count on you to:
- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure, such as roads and bridges
- Mentor junior field staff and provide supervision as needed
- Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses
- Identify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until corrected
- Serve as the most senior inspector on projects as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical school or Associate degree
- Relevant Industry Certifications
- Ability to interpret construction schedules
- NYSDOT or NYSTA experience
Required Qualifications:
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent
- (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
- A minimum of 5 years experience
- Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
A preferred qualification is a technical school or Associate degree. Relevant industry certifications are also preferred. The ability to interpret construction schedules and experience with NYSDOT or NYSTA is beneficial. A minimum of 5 years experience is required, and proficiency with MS Office is necessary.
Skills
Strong written communication skills are essential. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) New York: $98,525 - $140,750
