About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, providing leadership and direction for all financial operations of the hospital. This role oversees financial planning, budgeting, revenue cycle management, accounting, audit, reimbursement, and long-range financial forecasting. The CFO ensures the organization’s financial integrity, sustainability, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership aligned with the hospital’s mission, goals, and long-term strategy.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Lead the revenue cycle team to ensure optimal billing, collections, payer contracting, and reimbursement performance.
  • Manage financial risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct financial analysis to guide decision-making on service lines, capital investments, and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with department leaders to monitor performance, manage costs, and enhance profitability.
  • Prepare reports and present financial performance to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Lead annual audits, cost reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Support strategic initiatives including expansion, partnerships, grants, and transformation programs
  • Mentor and develop finance department staff, building strong internal capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA) is required.
  • 8 years minimum of Acute hospital CFO experience required
