Chief Financial Officer
Spang & Company is a diversified manufacturing company specializing in precision soft magnetic components and materials for the electronics industry, as well as custom-engineered solutions for the power industry. This role is based at the corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA.
About the role
This position will be responsible for the strategic planning, leadership, implementation, and management of all financial activities of the company, working directly with the senior leadership team on business planning, forecasting, financial negotiations, risk management, and long-term financial strategy. The Chief Financial Officer will provide executive oversight of accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, cash management, budgeting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial systems to support sound decision-making and maximize financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the company's financial operations to support long-term business objectives, maximize financial performance, and provide strategic guidance to executive leadership and the board of directors.
- Manage financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, business planning, accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury and cash management, banking relationships, risk management, compliance, and internal controls.
- Ensure financial records and reports are accurate, timely, and maintained in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate financial performance and support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic business opportunities.
- Improve accounting processes and ERP system utilization, strengthening consistency across locations.
- Partner with corporate and location financial teams to maintain external financial relationships.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve finance, accounting, operations, and information technology processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business (required).
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience in a multi-plant environment.
- Master of Business Administration (strongly preferred).
- Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, treasury, cash management, budgeting, financial reporting, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and advanced ERP systems.
