About the role
Fay School seeks a strategic, passionate, and experienced leader to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO), commencing on June 15, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the school's financial management, business office operations, human resources, and legal and compliance functions.
- Ensure the school's financial health, integrity, and long-term sustainability.
- Work closely with the Head of School, sit on the leadership team, and serve as a liaison to the Board of Trustees, supporting finance, audit, and governance initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- CPA strongly preferred
- A strong track record of success in financial management, preferably in an educational or non-profit organization
- Strong understanding of Human Resource management; SHRM or other HR certification preferred
- Extensive experience handling legal matters, preferably in an educational or non-profit organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills
- Effective management skills
- Technology competencies including insights into use of software and/or AI to create efficiencies

- Annual budgeting software
- NAIS DASL
- Google suite: Docs, Sheets, Mail, Calendar
- Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Navigating the internal website – MyFay
Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate with spoken and written words
- Ability to use a computer device with continuous wrist and hand movements on a keyboard, mouse, or other input device
Compensation and Benefits
- This is a full-time position that will be performed on campus.
- The position offers 50% tuition remission, in addition to a generous benefits package.
