About the role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our accounting and finance team. The CFO will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our organization, ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies, and contributing to strategic decision-making to drive growth. This is a permanent position requiring a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, optimizing the handling of bank and deposit relationships, and initiating appropriate strategies to enhance cash.
- Develop and execute the organization's budgeting and financial forecasting, ensuring all financial operations are in line with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Oversee the production of timely and accurate financial reports, ensuring that the organization complies with all GAAP guidelines.
- Manage and oversee all grants, ensuring that they are utilized and reported correctly.
- Lead the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, and implement finance-related policies and procedures across the organization.
- Ensure that all financial contracts, agreements, and grants meet legal requirements and organizational policies.
- Report financial results and projections to the board of directors and provide expert advice on all financial matters.
- Represent the organization in its relationships with partners, donors, and the public, ensuring a positive image and reputation.
- Contribute to the development of new programs and strategic initiatives, providing financial insights and projections.
- Coordinate all audit activities, ensuring the organization's financial operations are transparent and adhere to high standards of accountability and control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; advanced degree or professional certification (such as CPA or CFA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with financial and accounting software applications.
- Strong leadership skills, with an ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to clearly convey financial information to a non-financial audience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic approach to financial management.
- Experience in grant management and funding oversight.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Pay
$120,000 – $140,000 per year
