About the role
The Chief Financial Officer will oversee the firm's financial strategy, planning, reporting, and performance in a part-time capacity. The role will work closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making, assess business initiatives, optimize capital allocation, and manage financial risk.
Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and long-term financial plans.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis.
- Audit, tax & risk management
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Support financial risk management initiatives.
- Maintain effective financial controls and reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes and controls.
- Mentor finance team members.
- Refine financial processes and systems to support continued growth.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Expertise in financial planning and budgeting, including forecasting, scenario analysis, and long-term financial modeling.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with financial reporting, including regulatory, management, and investor-facing reporting.
- Proven leadership experience in a senior finance role, preferably as a CFO or equivalent within financial services or a related industry.
- Advanced proficiency with financial systems, spreadsheets, and analytics tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, part-time environment across multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- PREFERRED: Master's degree in a relevant field, CPA certification, CFA designation, familiarity with trading or investment platforms.
