Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The owner of a retail apparel chain in the southeast USA is seeking a fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help with strategic finance work as the company eyes expansion.

Responsibilities

• Build cash flow projections that account for the seasonal, multi-location retail business
• Model out whether and when the company can open its next store
• Advises on debt levels and prepares financials to present to the bank
• Reviews inventory target levels and ratios with the buyer
• Reviews the books and accounting for anything worth improving
• Works directly with the owner as a thought partner on growth

Requirements

• Must have been a CFO or equivalent for other small retail chains, with $1 - $25MM revenue
• Significant fashion apparel experience
• Built models that informed the opening of new locations
• Taken a business through a debt raise, from sizing the right amount to closing with the bank

Qualifications

• Based in the Southeast US
• Can flex into a COO-type role

• Understanding of fashion industry
