Chief Financial Officer
About the role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic, hands-on role responsible for overseeing the bank's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, liquidity management, and asset liability management. The CFO works closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial statements, regulatory reporting, and strong financial controls throughout the organization. The CFO leads ALCO meetings, oversees interest rate risk reporting, manages the bank’s liquidity position and daily cash settlements, and partners with ALM consultants on hedging and derivative strategies. Given the bank’s sizable mortgage portfolio, experience with interest rate risk management is highly desirable. This individual will also work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and external auditors on regulatory and audit matters.
Responsibilities
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Ensure accurate financial statements and regulatory reporting
- Manage liquidity and daily cash settlements
- Lead ALCO meetings and oversee interest rate risk reporting
- Partner with ALM consultants on hedging and derivative strategies
- Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and external auditors on regulatory and audit matters
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Preferable experience within banking or financial services
- A strong understanding of bank regulatory requirements, GAAP, financial reporting, and ALM
- CPA preferred but not required
