Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all preconstruction and estimating activities for the Houston division
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior and senior estimators
  • Develop accurate, competitive, and profitable bid proposals for projects of varying size and complexity
  • Review RFQs, RFPs, and Invitations to Bid for compliance with company standards, schedules, and competitiveness
  • Manage estimating schedules, workflows, and priorities to meet company objectives
  • Review quantity takeoffs for accuracy and compliance with specifications and drawings
  • Communicate with customers to define scope, address discrepancies, negotiate pricing, and build long-term relationships
  • Prepare contractual exhibits, scope documents, and quantified scopes of work
  • Conduct internal estimate reviews and lead departmental training and development initiatives
  • Develop logical assumptions for conceptual estimates and ensure consistency across takeoffs
  • Maintain and manage the Accubid database, including assemblies and estimating standards
  • Establish and enforce uniform estimating procedures and best practices
  • Participate in project turnover and kickoff meetings as needed
  • Analyze bid results and completed projects to improve estimating accuracy
  • Provide analytical summaries and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making
  • Attend project meetings and industry events to maintain and grow strategic relationships
  • Maintain confidentiality of all departmental and company information
  • Afford additional duties as required to support business objectives

Qualifications

  • Education, Experience, and Skills Required: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; Extensive experience in electrical estimating and preconstruction leadership; Experience Requirements: 10 or more years of electrical estimating experience; Proven experience leading and developing estimating teams; Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction practices
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of estimating software, including Accubid; Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously; Strong leadership, mentoring, and decision-making capabilities
  • Associated Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, leadership, and external partners; Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy; Ability to develop long-term strategies aligned with company growth goals; Professional judgment in high-impact financial and contractual decisions; Ability to uphold and model Enterprise Electrical's core values
