About the Role
This position is responsible for overall engineering operations, driving revenue, maximizing profit, and ensuring quality. You will manage assigned staff to achieve financial results, guest satisfaction, and positive employee relations while overseeing preventive maintenance, routine inspections, guest service recovery, asset protection, procurement guidelines, and capital expenditures.
You will assess and evaluate the functionality of all equipment and assets, perform or supervise maintenance work to extend their lifespan, and keep the property well-maintained. Responsibilities include proper equipment use, cost controls, and implementing cost-saving measures to meet or exceed budget goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage a department and team to achieve financial success, guest satisfaction, and employee relations while completing all hotel initiatives.
- Monitor and manage payroll and labor expenses.
- Follow all engineering Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and set an example for compliance with CSM and brand requirements.
- Identify training opportunities and provide one-on-one training for specific tasks or SOPs.
- Support all departments to ensure excellent customer service related to maintenance and equipment issues.
- Complete assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with CSM, brand, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow all CSM procedures for guest and associate incidents.
- Demonstrate knowledge of hotel emergency procedures.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in the hotel industry.
- High attention to detail and strong communication skills for interacting with all levels within and outside the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.
- High level of technical expertise related to the position.
- Excellent organization skills and creativity to facilitate efficient problem-solving.
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- CPO, HVAC, boiler, or Serve Safe certification desired, or ability to obtain certification based on policy guidelines.
- Current and valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
