About the role
The Chief Engineer at Sheraton St. Paul Woodbury Hotel is responsible for managing general and preventative maintenance functions to ensure guest service and sustainability standards are achieved and maintained throughout the hotel structure.Responsibilities
- Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates to ensure they perform in accordance with brand standards and HHM core values.
- Manage and coordinate bids, quotes, and contracts for third-party vendors.
- Oversee small projects or Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) and report on work progress.
- Perform and oversee diverse tasks including sheetrock repair, painting, furniture refinishing, and the replacement of electrical and plumbing fixtures.
- Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and repair heating/cooling pumps. Install and program televisions.
- Maintain accurate records of PMs on all rooms and equipment; test and maintain life safety systems to ensure they are 100% operational.
- Cook compliance of service contracts and ensure all work meets local, state, and Federal codes.
- Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal while following EarthView sustainability guidelines.
- Practice safe work habits following MSDS and OSHA standards while working to increase guest satisfaction scores.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and/or trade school coursework in a related field is preferred.
- Previous supervisory engineer/maintenance experience (or equivalent training) is required.
- An HVAC certification is required.
- Other certifications may be required based on local needs.
